More snowy days

The snow was still pretty rock solid today. In fact, I'd say it was even more solid than yesterday. But Jakey enjoed it anyhow!Add Image

And here's a few nature shots we took around the house.

Snowy days

It finally snowed enough to take the kids out and play! It wasn't as soft as we had hoped though. Last night we had freezing rain which pretty much froze the snow. But it was still fun nonetheless!

The neighbor got a good kick out of seeing me slip and fall straight on my butt as I was running to take some pictures of Jacob. I have to admit it was pretty funny!

Emma is still too little to have fun in the snow, so I just plopped her down for a quick photo. She's wearing a purple outfit from none other than Memaw! And her cute brown boots were from her Nona!

Jacob had fun though! He did cry a few times when he slipped and fell. His little hands were cold but he REFUSED to put on his gloves no matter what. We just bought Jacob some boots last time we were supposed to get a good amount of snow. It was FREEEEZING outside and we didn't even get an inch of snow so we decided to just keep the kids in that day. But they sure did come in handy today. They're still a little big but they worked. His cool jacket was a gift from Grandma!

Tubby Time

Emma has been getting big girl baths with her big brother. And believe it or not, she seems to start trouble just as much as Jacob. I really have to keep my eye on them because Jacob likes to pour water over her head and squirt her in the face with squirt toys. Emma starts the splashing fights though! That little girl loves to splash!!

Another hat, another shoot

I'm really trying to start offering more of a variety in my shop. In each listing I have it written that I do offer the same hat in many different color options, but a picture helps with a sale so much more.

This is the same hat that I posted about the other day just in different colors. I still plan on having a few photographers take some more photos of babies in my hats (especially newborns), but for right now Emma is working for me!

Eating with Emma

So today marked the first day of Emma actually eating some real solids, other than rice. We just bought a new food processor a few days ago and I broke it in by pureeing some organic carrots. Jacob was very excited to see the food processor at work. He even shouted "Cool! Wook Mommy, cool!".

I couldn't help but offer him a little taste test. After all he just might like it, right? Wrong! "Yuckies Mommy!" ::sticking his tongue out and letting out a few gagging coughs:: Little does he know a year or so ago he was eating this very meal.

Jacob layed down for a nap just as Emma woke up. Ya know, cause that's the way it goes. I nursed her and about an hour later we sat down at the kitchen table to try carrots for the first time.

So, at first it went alright. The more I spooned into her mouth, the more funny faces and shuddering I got. Towards the end we just had to stop. She wasn't having it anymore and she was making herself gag. She didn't even finish an ounce but that's OK. After all it was her first time. We will be trying more tomorrow.

Next week: sweet potatoes. I have a feeling those will go much better.

Just getting started!

Goofy girl.

Seriously. All done. No more.

Crafting with Jacob

Two posts in two days, WOW. Lets see if I can keep this up!

Valentines day is right around the corner. Instead of stressing out and waiting last minute to get some handmade cards out, I figured I'd get started on it now. Jacob LOVES to color and do artwork, however his attention span is very short. So, I figure we'll work on a few cards every few days.

I decorated the outside of the cards for him and he is decorating the inside with some valentines day stickers and some drawings.

Here is the little guy hard at work:

All that work requires a snack break. Nothing like dried cherries!
