Room Makeovers

I've decided I'm going to give Jacob and the new baby each their own room. I really loved having a playroom, but with the advice of others we're going to make the playroom into Jacob's room.

Our little girl will be getting Jacob's old room and all of his furnishings. All that's really left to do is make it more girly. I'll be making her crib sheets, bumper, crib skirt, a canopy to go over her crib, and some valances for the windows. Her room will be a fairy theme. I found the PERFECT fabric. I'm in love with it! It's by Alexander Henry and it's from his Sprites of Tillbrook collection.

Jacob's room is going to be done in old World War II planes. I have a couple of different fabrics that I'll be using (one I don't have a picture of yet). I'm going to make his sheets, throw pillows, and valances. I'm not even going to try making a quilt or a blanket as I'm not even close to being that talented! Mike's going to make some model airplanes so we can hang them from the ceiling over his bed.

JoAnn's was having a HUGE sale on Simplicity brand patterns this past weekend for Presiden'ts Day. They were selling them for $1 a piece!! I bought 13 different patterns including the patterns that I will need to make most of the bedroom projects. I saved $187.35! Here is a picture of crib bedding:

I'm not going to do everything that is pictured, but it's an idea of what it will look like. I am so excited to get all of this started!! Dad, if you're reading this I want you to get your butt up here and make our toybox!! :)

We're having a...

WE'RE HAVING A GIRL!

Talk about a total shocker! Mike & I both swore we were having another little boy. I've been calling the poor thing "he" and "him" this whole time.

Baby's measurements were all fine. There were no visible amniotic bands. However, I do have a low lying placenta that they will be monitoring. I did some research on it and it looks like most of the time as the uterus grows, the placenta will move upward like it's supposed to. I'll keep you all updated.

Finally the girl my side of the family has been waiting for. Here SHE is!
