After a week of dreary weather the sun has FINALLY decided to say hello today!
We celebrated by playing in the backyard. These two just love the outdoors. It's so sad keeping them locked up in the house. I know by the time summer comes It'll be so hot that I will dread the heat, but for now we're going to enjoy this beautiful weather!

Works In Progress (WIP) Wednesday
Another new tradition for our blog. Every Wednesday I’ll be posting about the projects I am currently working on.
This week I’ve been working on another skirty for Emma. It’s made of 100% wool yarn-- so not only is it cute, it also works as a diaper cover! This is the second one that I have made for her. The first one didn’t turn out so cute since I ended up running out of yarn...
I'm just about finished with it. All that's left is weaving in my loose ends and making a drawstring.
This week I also started making some wool capris for Emma for Spring. You know, for when it finally starts to get a little warmer… (Can you tell I’m SO over this cold weather?) I just love the bright colors!
I also plan on making a trip over to Mandi’s so we can have a bunny sew-a-thon, since Easter is sneaking up on us. We’ll be using the Bailey Bunny pattern from Bit of Whimsy Dolls. Emma already has one bunny using the pattern, but another won’t hurt!

Spring...? Is that you??
Spring is knocking at our door. And I am so eager to answer! Although it has been rainy and cold these past few days, we have had some warm and sunny days thrown in.
Mike, with jacob in tow, planted a few different varieties of flowering bulbs throughout our yard this past fall. While taking a walk around our yard we were pleasantly suprised to see them all starting to shoot up!
Hopefully within the next couple of weeks we will have beautiful SPRING flowers popping up eveywhere.

This Moment
I saw this on another blog that I like to follow and thought it was a great idea. It's called 'This Moment'. One picture, no words, capturing a moment from the week that I always want to remember.

Brayden's Fire Fighter Birthday
This past Saturday we were invited to celebrate Brayden's 4th birthday. Boy, was it a party! Fire truck, fire house, inflatable bouncer, and Jacob's favorite: sand box :)
Even little Emma enjoyed it. She was crawling all around and making sure to put plenty of grass and leaves into her mouth...
I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Wooden Letters
When Emma was just a couple of months old my dad made some wooden letters for us to hang in her room. Until this week they've been sitting propped up on her dresser just waiting to be painted and hung.
I finally got my butt in gear and got it done! I painted the letters pink and went with a lime-ish ribbon to hang them with. I attached the ribbon to the back of the letters with a staple gun. Now when I say my blood, sweat, and tears went into this I mean it! I ended up staple gunning my hand my first try at attaching the ribbon. How did this happen you ask?? Who knows! I obviously wasn't paying attention to which end the staples come out of. Definitely not my brightest moment.
I have to say that I really love how this project turned out. Thanks for the awesome letters, Dad!

Horsing around
It's March and still FREEZING cold outside. We even had flurries again just the other day. I can truly say that we are developing cabin fever in this house! This weekend Jacob's friend Brayden is having a birthday party and from what Mike was telling me, it's supposed to be a warm 60 degrees outside! We'll see.
We've been making the best of staying inside. The bed has become a playground for the little ones. They have so much fun jumping and attacking each other. I love watching them interact with each other.
Emma is starting to get better at eating solids. Finally! Carrots have now become a favorite and we have just introduced peas yesterday. Not sure how those will do yet because yesterday when we sat down to eat lunch Emma had a meltdown. I tried putting peas in her mouth to see if that would ease her crying, but as you can guess it only made it worse. Turns out she just wanted to nurse. Uhhhh. We'll be trying peas again for lunch today.
We tried potty training yesterday. Every 15 minutes I took my bare butt boy to the potty. He still will not pee in the darn thing! He has yet to ever do a single tinkle in it. He just sits there makes a "Psssssss" sound and says "All done Mommy. It's all gone." I even did the little potty chart and gave him a sticker every time he sat on the potty. I told him if he went pee pee that he would get candy and a sticker! Well he peed and it wasn't on the potty. Rather, the DVD player. So a diaper went on that bare butt and I decided we would start fresh the next day. I'm still waiting on the little booger to wake up this morning...
I'll have more to post later once the sun rises a little more and I can get a picture of Emma's room. I FINALLY painted and hung Emma's letters on her wall!
