Is it just me, or did 2009 go by REALLY fast?
2009 brought me a lot of things. Some wonderful, some sad. This year little Emma made her debut into the world, and I must say that it is a much better world because of it! Speaking of Emma's birth, Mike and I also celebrated our 2nd year of marriage on her birth day.
2009 was also the year that Jacob burned his feet. Thankfully, he is just about fully recovered. He is still wearing his pressure garment which is helping to reduce scarring. My Jakey sure is a strong little man. Thank you God for healing him quickly!
We spent another year in Tennessee, did a little traveling, and made some special memories.
I'm really excited about this new year. I'm really wanting to work on patience, keeping to a schedule, being a better mom, getting out of the house more with the little ones, and building a closer relationship with God. I hope I can do it!
We're home from Florida. What a trip! Jacob got a double ear infection, the stomach flu, a cold, and a horrible cough! Poor little man. Emma also got a little cold & cough.
We found out that Emma does not drink from a bottle anymore. Which really limited any time we could spend away from her, especially since she still wakes up often for feedings.
Mike and I did get to spend some time together alone and with some good friends. We went on our first date alone in well over a year. We went and saw Avatar. I loved it! Yes, it is a bit of a tree hugger movie... but I'm a tree hugger :)
Christmas day was crazy, as usual. Visiting all the family at all the different homes is very tiresome, but in the end so worth it. I love being able to spend a little bit of time with everyone I love. Jacob, however, was not being the best behaved child. He was a grump the whole day. Even with gifts being thrown at him left and right! I guess he does have a bit of an excuse, as he was sick and out of his element. But it's still very disappointing to see your child act that way, especially around family he never gets to see.
When we returned home, I came down with the stomach flu! Ahhh! I thought I dodged it while we were in Florida. Oh well, such is my luck. Thankfully I'm feeling much better now. One thing I REALLY don't like about being a stay at home mom: no sick days.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I took some pictures for my friend Courtney. She wanted some pictures of her and her new fiance, Dustin. We also got some family pictures of Dustin's family. I had a lot of fun! They were an awesome loving family. Here are a few shots that we got:
