For Halloween I decided to dress Emma up as a skunk. It seemed to fit her perfectly too, as she can be a very stnky little lady!
With Jacob I decided to get a little more creative. Can you guess what he is?
He's Max. The king of all wild things! From the children's novel Where The Wild Things Are. Jacob adores the book, and withe the movie coming out it got my creative wheels moving!
Let me begin by telling you just how last minute this costume was put together. We bought the supplies for it about a month ago: fleece, felt, and a zipper. I then ordered a faux children's tail off of Etsy. However, I have been so busy with making hats (100 sales in a month and a half!) that I kept putting it off. I finally came to the conclusion the night before that it just wasn't going to happen and that Jacob would go as a ninja since we had the costume as a hand me down from my little brother Will.
Well, I decided to change my mind at 10:30am Halloween day! I started cutting the pieces and sewing them together when all of a sudden: I RAN OUT OF THREAD!! Figures, right? A quick run up to the store solved that. By 4:30pm Jakey's costume was ready. I tried it on him and held my breath! Praise the Lord, it fit!! It was a little snug around the ankles, but nonetheless it fit!
I'm so happy with how well it turned out. People also recognized who he was which was fun. And a few older kids bowed to him calling him the king of all wild things! Too cute!
Miss Emma got a ton of oohs and aahs too!
The day after Halloween we had some family potraits taken by Laci with Barefeet Photography. Here are a few shots from our session.
I'm so happy with how they turned out!
There are still a few more shots from this session that she still has to send me. I'll be sure to post them once I get them!
Until next time,
Valerie, Mike, Jakey & Emma
